Attaching supporting Photos to a Work Request or Work order using Mainsaver Connect
A picture is worth a thousand words and this is certainly very true when documenting issues during maintenance inspections. For customers running the Mainsaver Connect module, a browser based Mainsaver module designed for the mobile workforce, a work request or work order may be created with supporting photos in real time.
Using a tablet, phone or laptop with a camera, photos from either the cameral roll or new photos may be attached to an existing or new work request or work order. In the example above the photo of the malfunctioning flux capacitor was taken by the maintenance technician using Mainsaver Connect. Instantly, the Maintenance Planner using the Mainsaver Core modules will be able to view the photos and prioritize the work and plan parts accordingly.
1. Designate a file server directory for the document repository. This must be in the UNC format of ‘\\servername\directory_name\’.
2. Ensure that the security on that directory will allow the webserver network services to write to that fold and allow Mainsaver users read access to that folder as well.
3. In Mainsaver Connect, the new file repository location must be setup. Go to settings, Configuration, System Settings, and then Add +.
4. At this point the user may attach files using the paper clip icon in Connect.
When uploading files, green shading indicates the file was loaded successfully to the repository directory.
Uploaded files are viable from Mainsaver Code. Notice the work order number is appended to the front of the file name to maintain a visual link to the work order.
Seamless integration of web based file attachments to the Mainsaver database and Mainsaver Core client provides real time visibility to all Mainsaver users.
